WHAT DO I TALK AND WRITE ABOUT?

RP4.jpg

SCIENCE FICTION AND…

THE FUTURE OF...

I find the intersection of science fiction, social issues, science, history, tech and philosophy fascinating.

In this section you can read or hear me talk, among other topics, about…

  • The Fermi Paradox, where are all the aliens and what is the significance of looking for them?

  • The history of our fascination with Mars

  • The (science fiction) origins of the robot and the atom bomb

  • The ethics and psychology of robo-cars and would they continue our tradition of gratuitous honking?

Some of the topics I covered include (science fiction and… OR the future of…) tech innovation, refugees, space exploration, post-colonialism, artificial intelligence, cities, virtual reality, cyborgs, cinema, autonomous vehicles, aliens, robotics, surveillance and pre-crime, the human body, jobs, money and economics etc.

FILM FESTIVALS

GENRE FILMS

I have two decades of experience in organizing, programming and producing cultural events and film festivals - in the (genre) films, science fiction, new media, digital art and science communication fields.

Film festivals, events and awards – management, selection, curation, programming, production, PR & marketing, volunteer-organization, industry & guest relations, market presence and more.

Genre Films, the Fantastic, Speculative and Horror genres – definitions, main artistic and political themes, central past & present creatives, the market, industry, festival circuit and audience.
